Feeding Our Neighbors – Mother’s Day, 2024

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉

We’re happy to announce that ASK has partnered with Magnolia UMC for the third time! Together, on Mother’s Day, we recently volunteered to serve 24 trays of delicious baked ziti, accompanied by fresh salad, mouthwatering cookies, and garlic bread.

This collaboration highlights the power of unity and compassion in our community regardless of difference in beliefs. It’s inspiring to see how working together can make a meaningful impact!

A huge shoutout to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to make this event a success. Your contributions are truly appreciated! We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated to support this endeavor.

Our next event to feed our neighbors is on June 9th, and we’d love for you to join us! Please reach out if you want to volunteer or donate. Stay tuned for additional opportunities to get involved and make a difference. Let’s continue to support each other and spread kindness wherever we go!

ASK is Supporting Mutual Aid

This year, Atheist Society of Knoxville has decided to support local mutual aid groups. Our first is First Aid Collective Knox. This group has been helping people in our community struggling with houselessness, drug addiction, rental assistance, and many other things. We will be receiving a shipment of Narcan in about a month and will put together 50-100 safe-use kits for the First Aid Collective to distribute. We would also like to put together snack packs and menstrual packs for them. We are asking for your help for this part. We are collecting donations for any of the items listed below. You can also send money through PayPal @Knoxvilleatheists and we will purchase them.

Needed Items:

  • Cereal Bars (or any other soft pre-packaged ready to eat snacks)
  • Fruit
  • Drink mixes
  • Candy
  • Menstrual pads
  • Tampons

Items can be dropped off at Barley’s from 5-7 at the ASK table. You can also contact the page and we can try arrange a pick up.

A.S.K. Cookout

End the summer with the ASK cookout. We’ll provide the hot-dogs and hamburgers. Just bring a side and/or drink. The event will be at the pavilion at Victor Ashe Park. This is a family friendly event! Please RSVP on by Sept. 5th so we can get an idea of how much meat to buy. You may do so on the Facebook event, meetup, or comment below.

Atheist Society will be raffling off some great prizes, so bring a couple bucks for raffle tickets.
